Love is something we all talk about, sing about, and long for—yet our search for it often leaves us feeling empty. Scripture reminds us that true love is found in God, whose love never fails. That unfailing love is fully revealed in Jesus. As John 3:16 declares, God so loved the world that He gave His Son. When we receive this kind of love, it changes how we live. We are called to love one another, reflecting the same selfless, enduring love God has shown to us.

Wrapping Up Christmas...with LOVE

1 John 4:9-11; Nehemiah 9:17; John 13:34-35

The Christmas story in a sentence:

“For God so loved the world -

that He gave his one and only son...”

1. Get all wrapped up in THE GIFT.

See 1 John 4:9-11

v9, “God SHOWED how much He loved us...”

v10b, “[God]...sent His Son as a SACRIFICE to take away our sins.”

- “sacrifice” - somebody has got to PAY.

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death.”

2. Get all wrapped up IN MERCY.

v17b, “But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love.  You did not abandon them...”
