Giving
Your tithes (God’s threshold of generosity) is essential to all the work of the church: missions, discipleship, worship, evangelism, and ministry. That is the foundation of church health. At the same time, God often places before us unique opportunities to excel in giving (2 Corinthians 8:7). As God’s blessings are exceedingly abundant, so too our giving can go far beyond the threshold of generosity.
Below you will find 5 pockets of giving opportunities. The essential pocket would be budget giving, but take time and consider what God may be nudging you towards concerning the other pockets.
The Five Pockets of Giving at New Work
Budget - the beginning of faithfulness in giving. God calls us to bring the tithe to the church and gifts into the budget support all the work of the church.
Building - there are always capital projects at hand. This pocket also includes debt reduction.
Directed - Occasionally there are special projects/opportunities leadership identify as strategic.
Benevolence - Needs are constant. The church is the instrument God uses to meet the needs of people in and around our community.
Missions - We are all about the Go! Strategic partnerships are part of missional giving. Each year these partnerships are part of the year-end giving opportunity.

Why Give to God?
God doesn't need our money; He already owns it all. However, when we willingly set aside the first part of our income for the local church and give liberal offerings, our hearts will be turned toward Him. (Matthew 6:21)
Can I Tithe Online?
Absolutely! Even online, tithing is an act of obedience and worship from your heart. Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income/increase) to God and see if He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you. (Malachi 3:10)
What about Offerings?
All free-will offerings can be designated to the pockets described above. If you have an offering above and beyond your normal tithe, the most impactful place would be the budget pocket. If you would like to further discuss your offering, please contact our Financial office.
