1 Samuel 16 and 2 Samuel 5
What is your Waiting Work?
1) Be FAITHFUL in the LITTLE things
2) Be COURAGEOUS in the TOUGH things
See 1 Samuel 17:17-18.
2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
3) Be PRESENT in the ETERNAL things
See Psalm 57
- “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…” (Psalm 23)
- “O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens…When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the starts you set in place—what are mere mortals that you think about them?” (Psalm 8)
- “Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love… Against you and you alone, have I sinned…Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back the joy again…” (Psalm 51)
4) Be PATIENT in the TEMPTING things
Ecclesiastes 7:8, “Patience is better than pride.”

5) Be HUMBLE in the GOOD things

6) Be TRUSTING in the UNKNOWN things
Final Thought: "Yet those who WAIT for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Waiting is a part of life. We often are left wondering why is waiting such a big part of life. We need to know how the Lord uses waiting. We need to figure out what we are to do in the waiting. And We are to understand that there surely will come a day when we are to cease waiting—and move! How do we wait well?
