The Wonder of Generosity
Matthew 2:1-12
1. There are Two Ways to Live (Magi vs. Herod)
Proverbs 11:25- The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Proverbs 15:27- Greed brings grief to the whole family, but those who hate bribes will live.
Luke 6:38-Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Mark 7:21-23-For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.
2. There is One Way to get there
STEP #1: Be Aware
STEP #2: Prepare
Luke 6:30, “Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.”
Romans 12:10, “Outdo one another with honor.”
STEP #3: Extravagance
Final thought: Stepping into the Wonder of Generosity—still saves the Savior for all who need saving; and produces in you exceeding great joy.
