Zechariah really had no control in life. His hopes to be a father were dashed by the time we pick up his story. But as he learns to let go and trust God - He discovers that God has for him more than he could have ever asked or imagine. One of the struggles of our Christmas is that we want control. How about remembering that in the Christmas story - only God is in control!

The Burden of Control

Luke 1:5-17

Three truths that will help you "lay down" the burden of control:

Truth 1: We can't control it all.

The Can'ts - the culture outside and the conditions inside

The Cans - my attitude and my effort

Truth 2: We can talk with the One who can.

Truth 3: We can trust the One who can.

Maybe the God who is in control isn't asking you to wait to keep something from you, maybe He's asking you to wait because He's saving something for you.
