First Thanksgiving Feast
Take, Eat: He Is Writing a Testimony in You
1 Kings 19:3-6
Have you ever come to the end of yourself—spent, done, written off—only to find that God shows up right on time? Elijah did, under a broom tree in the wilderness, when a simple meal of bread and water restored his strength and hope. Just like that, the table becomes a testimony—a proclamation of what Christ has done for us. You may think you don’t have a story worth sharing, but every life changed by Jesus is a testimony in progress. Like the man in John 9 who simply said, “I was blind, but now I see,” that’s enough. God is still writing your story. Be thankful—this isn’t the end, it’s just another chapter of His grace.
First Thanksgiving Feast
Take, Eat: He Is Writing a Testimony in You
1 Kings 19:3-6; 1 Corinthians 11:26; John 9:1-25
1. Elijah’s Seat - God meets us when we are weary.
1 Kings 19:3-6
God begins writing His testimony when we come to the end of ourselves.
- Sometimes God doesn’t give us a speech; He gives us strength.
- If God can use ravens, He can use you to share His story.
2. The Corinthians’ Seat - We are in this together.
1 Corinthians 11:26
The Lord’s Supper is not a ritual to observe - it’s a testimony we proclaim together.
- When we eat and drink, we proclaim the Lord’s death - that’s testimony language.
- At this table, there are no higher or lower seats.
3. The Blind Man’s Seat - Encountering Jesus changes us.
John 9:1-25
The table reminds us that the story isn’t over - it’s still being written.
- Those who have been changed are now sent to share what God has done.
- A true testimony doesn’t require all the answers, just an encounter with Jesus.
The Ongoing Story - God is still writing.
Elijah shows no one is too broken. Corinth shows no one sits alone. John 9 shows no one leaves unchanged.
This table is not the end of your story; it’s strength for the next chapter.
