The Outpouring
Step Aside
Acts 4:32-5:2
We all need to check ourselves when it comes to pouring out. There is something beautiful in it. It appeals to us. But, at the same time - there is this heart tug of wanting to keep our stuff. After all, it is OUR stuff, right? We are wise when we carefully check ourselves and do not put ourselves in the middle of it. The story of Ananias and Saphira is a powerful warning to us - these stories remind us that when you give, having been guided by the Holy Spirit, you are in for incredible joy! But, if you leave "KING SELF" on the throne, only trouble is ahead. There is a beauty in surrender when it is truly for the Lord.
The Outpouring
Step Aside
Acts 4:32-5:2, 2 Corinthians 8:10-12
How to make a commitment today:
1. Get happy
See 2 Corinthians 8:11, "eagerness"
2 Corinthians 9:7b, "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."
2. Get ready
See 2 Corinthians 8:12, "Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don't have."
Luke 6:38, "Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."
3. Get moving
See 2 Corinthians 8:10, "Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it."
4. Get started
You are invited into a time of prayerful commitment, and then to take a step of faith as we begin the work of the vision. It begins with prayer.
Everyone is invited to create an impact card that will be buried beneath the foundation; taking your prayers for the salvation of your "three" and sealing it in concrete.
And everyone who is ready and willing are invited into the work of pursuing the vision by "laying at the feet" of the Lord your commitment card to the Outpouring.
