Not My King
Saul - The Right Look but the Wrong Heart
1 Samuel 15:10-21
Saul was the king with the right look but the wrong heart - tall...dark...handsome...looked like a king. In the end, he was a horrible king that left the Israelites unsatisfied. He was chosen by God, but ultimately failed because he did things his way instead of God's way. God gave them a king, and he ended up doing EXACTLY what Samuel said he would do.
Not My King
Saul - The Right Look but the Wrong Heart
1 Samuel 15:10-21, 24-30
Three things King Saul was guilty of that caused his fall:
1. Leaders fall when they are SELF-DECEIVED by sin.
A clear CONSCIENCE might not only be a testimony of our personal PURITY; it might also be a testimony to our own BLINDNESS from our personal SIN.
2. Leaders fall when WISDOM and COURAGE are missing.
WISDOM is knowing the right thing to do.
COURAGE is doing the right thing no matter the cost.
3. Leaders fall when their PERSONAL SIN settles in.
