Going Through the Motions - Right Thinking
Right Thinking: Who Do You Say I Am?
Matthew 16:13-18
Jesus also gets into asking the questions that make us think. And like before, this is actually a double question: Who do others say I am, and who do you say I am? Can you answer these questions? In truth, these are the most important questions you will ever answer. If you can answer these questions - the rest of life falls into place. Peter gets the right answers to the right questions. And when you answer the question correctly - there are life implications - both for eternity and for the here and now.
Going Through the Motions - Right Thinking
Who Do You Say I Am?
Matthew 16:13-18
Three truth statements Jesus wants to teach us:
1. The majority doesn't make it right. (Matthew 16:13-14)
I cannot follow culture and follow Christ.
2. He is the One. (Matthew 16:15-16)
He's not just the One they needed; He's the One we need.
3. When I know who He is, He will tell me who I am. (Matthew 16:17-18)
The Rock that Jesus would build His church on is the Gospel - knowing who He is.
