Love Truth
Love Truth: Wise Words
James 3:1-18
What you say matters. Words last.
1) You were given the ability to communicate for two reasons (James 3:1-2):
a. To love God. (Matthew 22:36-38)
b. To love others. (Matthew 22:39-40)
2) You can tame and train your speech. (James 3:3-12)
From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” Matthew 4:17
3) Godly wisdom drives transformed speech. (James 3:13-18)
a. Ungodly Wisdom: bitter, selfish, unspiritual, demonic, disorderly, evil
b. Godly Wisdom: peace loving, gentle, willing to yield, merciful, good deeds, no favoritism, sincere
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8
Final Thought:
Will you be a godly person; full of the wisdom from above, or just like the rest of the world? Choose wisely, Follow Christ.
