Love Truth
Love Truth: Actions
James 2:14-26
When it comes to your faith, if ACTION is absent; your FAITH is lacking.
TRUE FAITH (TRUTH-FAITH)…
… Is SAVING FAITH
James 2:14, “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”
Romans 3:28, “So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.”
Ephesians 2:8, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
… Is MORE than WORDS
James 2:16, “and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?”
Matthew 7: 21, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.”
Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
…Is MORE than MENTAL ASSENT
James 2:19, “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.”
Deuteronomy 4:6, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
… Is MORE than EMOTION
…Is LIFE-CHANGING
James 2:21, “Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions…”
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Salvation is the inner work of God—that shows out in your living.
Final Thought:
For when we place our FAITH in Christ Jesus…What is important is FAITH expressing itself in LOVE.
