Living on Purpose
Live Contentment
1 Cor. 13:4
What truly drives the way we relate to others—contentment or craving? Jesus warned of the danger of envy, experienced its harm firsthand, and yet lived with deep, unmistakable contentment. Though he lived simply, without even a place to lay his head, peace marked his life. That contentment is felt by those who follow him. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 2, Jesus laid aside everything to take up the Way of Love—and calls us to embrace that same heart and mindset.

Live Contentment
Philippians 2:5-8
2 Corinthians 10:12 (NIV), “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.”
“...let me show you a way of life that is best of all. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous...It does not envy”
What do you do with envy?
Step 1 - Feel it
See Mark 7:20-23
Step 2 - Examine it
My envy grows where my gratitude shrinks.
Step 3 - Rest in it
Understand this: Envy grasps; love releases.
See Philippians 4:6-7
Step 4 - Live it
Homework:
1. Count your blessings.
2. Laugh every day.
3. Be the blessing someone needs.
What if love isn’t about getting more, but trusting God enough to let go?
