Instead of asking, 'Is God good?', perhaps the deeper question is, 'How could anyone doubt that a good God exists, even in a world with suffering—and even with the reality of hell?'

It Shouldn't Be This Way

John 9:1-11

Three reasons suffering exists:

1. Sometimes we suffer because of sin (John 9:1-2).

The very fact that suffering bothers us points us to the goodness of God.

2. Sometimes suffering is allowed so we would have a story to tell (John 9:3-7).

We have a God who can take our suffering and use it for good.

3. Sometimes suffering is allowed so we can see (John 9:8-11).
