Before You Go
It Shouldn't Be This Way
John 9:1-11
Evil and suffering are undeniable realities—but so is goodness. While we all witness pain in our lives, we also encounter moments of beauty, joy, and awe. Instead of asking, 'Is God good?', perhaps the deeper question is, 'How could anyone doubt that a good God exists, even in a world with suffering—and even with the reality of hell?'
Before You Go
It Shouldn't Be This Way
John 9:1-11
Three reasons suffering exists:
1. Sometimes we suffer because of sin (John 9:1-2).
The very fact that suffering bothers us points us to the goodness of God.
2. Sometimes suffering is allowed so we would have a story to tell (John 9:3-7).
We have a God who can take our suffering and use it for good.
3. Sometimes suffering is allowed so we can see (John 9:8-11).
Is my suffering quickly coming to an end, or is my suffering just getting started?
