Genesis 15:1-21
1) How do imperfect humans react to God, whose holiness is a consuming FIRE?(Genesis 15)
a) FEAR.
Fear is what happens when we suddenly realize that we are in the presence of something more POWERFUL than us, and we have no CONTROL over it.
2) How does God, who is holy and perfect, react to US?
b) LOVING-KINDNESS and FAITHFULNESS (vs. 1)
a. “Don’t be AFRAID.
b. “I will PROTECT you.”
c. “Your reward will be GREAT.”
c) PROMISE. (vs. 13-14)
a. “You can be SURE."
b. “But I WILL.”
d. COVENANT. (vs. 18)
a. “So the Lord MADE.”
3) How does this matter now?
a) You can only be part of this covenant through JESUS CHRIST. (Ephesians 2:4-7)
b) If you are a CHRISTIAN, you must REFLECT the loving-kindness, faithfulness, and promises of God to a lost world. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Final Thought: Am I a REFLECTION of JESUS?
