I Am Not Enough

2 Kings 6:14-18

Elisha has a servant who cannot see beyond what is right in front of his face. And because all he can see is the opposition that surrounds him, he cannot begin to believe what God has for him. We can often feel exactly the same: I am not enough...I am not good enough...I am not strong enough...I am not faithful enough.  This kind of thinking can infect all areas of our lives - work, marriage, friendship, faith, church. Wouldn't it be something if someone would pray that our eyes would be opened to see all that God has for us?

I Am Not Enough

2 Kings 6:14-18

How do we overcome "Not-Enough-Ism"?

1. See more

"Faith is to believe what you do NOT see; the reward of faith is to see what you believe." - Saint Augustine

2 Corinthians 4:18, "So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix or gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we can not see will last forever."

2. Pray more

See v. 17

Ephesians 3:20, "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."

3. Trust more

See v. 16

Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now..."

4. Do more

See v. 17 "he looked up."

5. Let go more

See v. 18

Exodus 14:13, "Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today."
