The Same Power: New Authority

Ephesians 1:15-23 

John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

AUTHORITY = Freedom Granted

1) The Struggle is Real

(Important background to this passage is Acts 19)

Ephesians 4:10-12, “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

2) The Struggle is Won!

v21. “Now He is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also the world to come.”

Genesis 1:26, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock...”

Key thought: Paul prays NOT that we could get power, but that we would wake up to the fact that we have power!

3) The Struggle is Bigger than you 

Final thought:

God is not just wanting to do things FOR you.
He wants to do something IN you,

so that He can do something THROUGH you.
