Love Truth: Love What Matters

James 4:13-5:6

 1) Context: Focus determines desire.  (James 4:1-2)

Key Question: How much do I desire God? (Martyrdom of James)

2) You can develop a stronger desire for God by shifting your focus:  (James 4:13-5:6)
  1. From you to God. (“Look here,” 4:13a)
  2. From your time to God’s time. (“today or tomorrow,” 4:13b)
  3. From you want, to what God wants. (“If the Lord wants,” 4:14-17)
  4. From your stuff to God’s stuff. (“This treasure you have,” 5:1-3)
  5. From the way you see people to the way God sees people. (“You have condemned,” 5:4-6)

Learn to love what matters by shifting your focus to Christ.
