Legacy Families: Parents First

Deuteronomy 6:1-3

Legacy Families

Parents First

Deuteronomy 6:1-3

What is a legacy?

Once you have a family, you have a legacy.  (Psalm 78:1-8)

Your role as a parent or grand-parent is to:

1.  Be a Godly (Deuteronomy 6:1-2a)

Two Questions to consider: (Ephesians 5:15-16)

  1. You are a model, but are you being a Godly model?
  2. You are the greatest influence in your child’s life, but what is influencing you as a parent?

2.  Live out your faith. (Deuteronomy 6:2b)

Two actions to employ:

  1. It’s a daily discipline.
  2. Lead yourself as you build up your family.

3.  Demonstrate (Deuteronomy 6:3)

One confession to embody:

“I am not a perfect, but I can be perfected in Christ.”

Final Thought:  Be intentional about passing on a biblical legacy in your family.
