How to Experience Pervasive Joy:

Define it

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4

Joy Defined:

Joy is the pure confidence and exhilarating assurance experienced in trusting God, regardless of life’s circumstances.

Defend it

1. Fear and Worry

            See Habakkuk 1:2-5

            Proverbs 12:25, “Worry weighs a person down…” 

2. Bitterness

            Hebrews 12:15, “Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness                 grows up to trouble you”.

            Colossians 3:13,  “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and                  forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you,            so you must forgive others.”

Develop it

1. Embrace My Pain

            See 2 Corinthians 7:4 and John 15:11

2. Come to Jesus

            See Habakkuk 3:18 and John 15:1

3. Wait on the Lord

         See Habakkuk 3:16 and 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
