We know you may have some questions, and we’re here to help make this an easy, enjoyable experience that everyone looks forward to.
What Does It Mean to Be a Host?
The role of a Host is best summed up by the word H.O.S.T.
- H – Have a Heart for people
- O – Open your home, apartment, office, etc.
- S – Seek to serve (offering snacks, water, or a welcoming atmosphere)
- T – Turn the conversation toward the topic
If you have a heart for hospitality, we’ll help you with the rest!
Key Questions to Consider:
1. How Many People Can You Host? ▶
We’ll handle online signups and limit group sizes based on what you tell us. Be honest about your space limitations. If your home isn’t suitable, consider alternative locations.
2. What About Kids? ▶
While childcare won’t be provided by the church, you can decide if kids are welcome in your group. Some groups include kids, while others prefer an adults-only environment. Let us know your decision so we can include it in the signup details. If kids are welcome, we’ll provide additional safety guidelines.
3. What Will We Talk About? ▶
Each week, we’ll send a Bible Study and Discussion Guide. It will include icebreakers, reflection questions, and scripture-based discussion points to help deepen the study.
4. How Long Is the Commitment? ▶
Connect Groups meet for 8 weeks. If your group enjoys meeting, feel free to continue beyond the session. We offer seasonal groups, and our goal is to make hosting a joy, not a burden.
