Who Is the Holy Spirit?

Charged:  The Power of a Spirit Led Life

Who is the Holy Spirit?

Genesis 1:2 & 26, John 3:6-8, Romans 8:1-4

  • The Holy Spirit is God. (Genesis 1:2 & 26)
  1. The active presence of God.
  2. The revealer of God’s grace.
  3. The giver of true life in Christ.
  • How do we “flesh out” an understanding of the Holy Spirit? (John 3:6-8)
  1. God the Father: He created your skin.
  2. God the Son: He saved your skin.
  3. God the Spirit: He gets under your skin.

Key thought:  The Holy Spirit is the indwelling presence of God in the person of the believer.

  • So what does this mean for you? (Romans 8:1-4)

When you are alive in Christ and led by the Spirit you begin to:

  1. see what God sees.
  2. hear what God hears.
  3. say what God says.
  4. go where God wants you to go.

Final Thought:  The power of a Spirit led life is one in which you follow in being an active presence of God, a revealer of God’s grace, and a giver of true life in Christ.

Series Information

As believers, we have a helper. A powerful advocate that doesn’t just come from God, He is God.  Jesus even went so far as to tell his disciples that it’s better that he goes away so that they would have the help of the Holy Spirit.  Do you have this kind of help? This kind of power?  How can you tell? Join us throughout the month of May as we walk through what the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit’s power in our lives.
