What's the BIG deal about sex? It’s just physical, right?
Genesis 1:27-28, Ephesians 2:8-10, & 1 Corinthians 7:1-5
Sex is far more than physical. It’s spiritual.
1) It is foundational to life. (Genesis 1:27-28)
a.Know who you are. You are made in the image of God.
2) It is a reflection of the holiness of the Trinity and Christ’s love for the Church. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Characteristics of the Trinity and Christ’s relationship with the Church:
- United
- Act as one toward others
- Relationally active toward each other
- Permanent
- Committed
- Exclusive
- Self-Giving
3) It is a part of God’s best plan for marital intimacy between husband and wife. (1 Corinthians 7:1-5)
- Grow in grace toward one another.
Final Thought: Sex is a big deal because it is a big deal to God. It is a blessing to be observed between husband and wife for the purpose of growing in Christ.
